SAS & Company were selected as the UK distributor of Carven Fragrances in December 2012. Five years on and they are delighted to be working with Carven for the launch of their most recent launched L'Absolue and L'eau Intense.

While 2009 marked the rebirth of a Fashion House, a new chapter was written in 2015 with the arrival of two designers, Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud, to work on the women's collections. The women's fragrance portfolio has been added to with an opulent and feminine fragrance.

CARVEN L'EAU INTENSE

The incredible international success of Carven Pour Homme and Vetiver, has pushed Carven Parfums to the forefront of men’s fashion and in turn prompted the release of a brand new men’s fragrance.

L’eau Intense is as refreshing as mint leaf-infused water, yet brimming with intensely spicy and woody notes; L’eau Intense is the perfect example of an olfactive oxymoron. Imagined by Jerome Di Marino under the supervision of Francis Kurkdijan, they took on the challenge of creating a fragrance that would be both fresh and intense, leaving a powerful and intriguing scent in its trail. L’eau Intense is characterised by fresh notes of mint, Italian lemon and grapefruit, followed by a gradual build up with hints of birch leaves and lavender, before drawing its real power and intensity from a bouquet of ginger, cardamom, cedarwood and ambery woods.

The bottle is nothing less than a graphically pure design. The front side of the bottle is optical white with the pattern of an imaginary shirt and transparent sides. In addition, its matte grey case is threaded with shiny metallic silver.

Carven L’eau Intense is available nationwide. Eau de Toilette Spray 100ml: £70, Eau de Toilette Spray 50ml: £50.00, Eau de Toilette Spray 30ml: £35 and Bath & Shower Gel 200ml £22.

CARVEN VETIVER

Carven's Vetiver cologne was born in 1957, in a salute to the flamboyancy of Philippe Mallet, Madame Carven’s husband. As one of the first of Vetiver scents in a long line of eponymous scents, it has spanned the decades in a timeless manner and is yet to be matched.

Carven have focused on heritage to give VETIVER a new look and energy, without touching its original formula. Madame Carven was once quoted ‘Everything I love is green’ and with this, Thierry de Baschmakoff and Guillaume Henry turned this into reality using an intense, magnetic neon green lacquer on a new structured silhouette.

The untouched scent itself opens on a vibrant aromatic citrus note of Grapefruit, Bergamot and Lemongrass. Its heart is a symphony of Lavender, Orange Blossom and Geranium that picks up excitement with base notes of sensuous Nutmeg softened by Benzoin, Sandalwood and Cedar with, underlying it all, the glory of Vetiver.

CARVEN POUR HOMME

Following on from the original launch of Carven's VETIVER in 1957, Carven was keen to create a buzz with the launch of their opus: POUR HOMME, the very essence of Carven style in a masculine mode.

POUR HOMME is a woody, spicy and aromatic scent with a burst of modernity. Violet Leaf and grapefruit dominates the top notes. A spicy trio of Nutmeg, Cedar and Sage lends warmth to the heart. Vetiver, lends its distinctive signature to the base, softened by milky notes of Sandalwood.

The bottle with its racy silhouette, clean lines and black lacquer highlight its classic style but it accented with a metal cap to keep in mind the hint of off-beat personality. Designer, Thierry de Baschmakoff talks of POUR HOMME as ‘An olfactive accessory that logically complements an elegant wardrobe.’

Carven POUR HOMME and VETIVER are available nationwide. Eau de Toilette Spray 100ml: £70, Eau de Toilette Spray 50ml: £50.00. CARVEN L'ABSOLU

While 2009 marked the rebirth of a Fashion House, a new chapter is being written in 2015 with the arrival of two designers, Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud, to work on the Women's collections. Critically acclaimed for their first fashion show in March 2015, their influence has prompted a dash of opulence and absolute femininity into the newest fragrance.  L’Absolu has intense notes. It is deeply floral and intensely voluptuous, with sensual and irresistible notes. After fresh and dashing head notes of Italian green mandarin essence, the hypnotic and sensual ylang ylang essence from Madagascar quickly takes over. L’Absolu reveals intense middles notes of Egyptian absolute jasmine, emphasised by tuberose and iris. The base notes are richly oriental, enhanced by Indonesian patchouli, sandalwood and Spanish absolute cistus. L’Absolu is unquestionably the most intense chapter in the history of Carven Fragrances. Francis Kurkdjian and Jérôme di Marino, the young perfumer he recently trained within Takasago, jointly designed this hypnotic Women's fragrance and combined their creative forces to create a Floral Oriental Chypre scent.

CARVEN L'ABSOLU available exclusively at Selfridges Oxford Street, Manchester Exchange, Manchester Trafford, Birmingham. Eau de Parfum 30ml: £42, Eau de Parfum 50ml:£58, Eau de Parfum 100ml:£75, Perfumed bath & shower gel: £24, Perfumed body milk: £32.

Carven L'Eau de Toilette

Different from the original but not in opposition; this even fresher, lighter and more luminous scent is inspired by the simplicity, freshness and captivating charm of the Carven woman. Encapsulating the energy of Carven fashion, this new fragrance, masterminded by Francis Kurkdjian, combines fresh yet musky floral notes with a flash of femininity against a soft, creamy backdrop.

Creator of Carven L’Eau de Toilette, Francis Kurkdjian started his journey of evolution by his desire to create a lighter, more airy fragrance; “I imagined Carven L’Eau de Toilette like a lightweight piece of clothing, with an elegant cut and a decidedly “city” look. As easy to wear as Le Parfum but made of a different fabric, probably more airy. Quite naturally, the original Jasmine became Freesia, illustrating its totally floral lightness. I also reworked the woody harmony in my composition, so it would blend delicately with the Musks.”

Francis Kurkdjian first selected elegant citrus notes of Italian Lemon and Orange. These set the tone for the delicious fragrance before yielding to a charming duet of Sweet Pea and Peony, with their poetic and naturally sparkling notes. L’Eau de Toilette has inherited its signature floral bouquet but sees its fresh transparent top notes fused with the grace and radiance of Freesia, which has been underscored by White Hyacinth and Wisteria for transparency and added luminosity. Its creamy elegant bottom notes of amber, white musks and sandalwood create depth and a lingering sensuality.

The new scent is also available within the new bath line, created to prolong and intensify the fragrance. Launching exclusively within Selfridges Trafford on 30th March and Oxford Street, Manchester Exchange and Birmingham on 17th April 2014. Carven L’Eau de Toilette will roll out in stores nationwide from 10th May 2014.
